On to bigger and better things

Since the new website is up and running, this forum is officially closed. However! Everyone should run-don't-walk to the lovely new web home, Death by d6. I'm especially a fan of the fact that this website is designed for traffic outside of the gaming group, and has a forums section for discussion of all kinds of geekery. (And I notice that there are NO Cthulhu threads yet! Someone should really go and start one...nudge, nudge)

It's been fun, guys!

new web site

ok, so. A website of sorts exists. For those interested in the RPG world side of things, this is the home for stories, world and character information, etc. For those interested in just rantings and information in general, we also have forums

Now, the forums are still very much in the air. I thought it might be fun to give people a place to talk about books, movies, tv, etc, as long as it is suitably fantastical/gaming related. Do we like this idea? would we have people interested in using such forums? Would someone be interested in moderating such a set of forums? I know that people who read this journal read books and watch movies having to do with fantasy, scifi, horror, camp, pulp, or any other such obviously geek related subjects. Let me know if you would be interested in having such a format and location available.

More tourney lameness

March 12th: it's a doubles tournament, and they're pairing up players from the "junior division" and the "senior division". (There's nothing wrong with encouraging the kids to play, of course, but mandating this format exclusively for the day seems a bit much.)

They're also thinking about starting a league: see here.

ok dudes, with the additional web developer willpower within the group, we are making a more concentrated effort. First things first, suggestions for site names (and as an extension, group names). One on the wild die, while descriptive of our gaming style, is not something we want to be identified by, and it's a little long for a URL. We want something fun, but non-game specific.

For instance, here are some existing names that Everyone has heard, and are cool.

Knights of the Dinner Table
The Black Hands

Personally, I also like Order of the stick (being both interesting, and descriptive).

Post any ideas you might have. Also, any features that people would like? We are already talking of adding a true bulletin board, including separate strings for in game posts (character journals, historical/current event stories, personal interactions) as well as metagame information and discussion boards, but what else would people like to see? Already suggested:

online character sheets, a character database.
links to relevant or interesting sites.
